You probably have a lot going on and could use a safe place to come and talk about all the stuff you are dealing with. If you’re having a tough time dealing with your parents expectations or your own, counseling may be the right answer for you. It’s not just about your parents either. It’s school, social stuff, getting into college, how you feel about yourself, handling disappointments and figuring out who you are.
Does your conversation with yourself go something like this: “How can I keep up with my friends ( texting, phoning, IMing, and updating MYSPACE and FACEBOOK) plus get my assignments done so I can get into a good college? My parents don’t get how important all this stuff is. They’re always bothering me about my homework. Why can’t they just leave me alone?” Or maybe: “I hate the way I look no matter how little I eat or how much I work out.” Or possibly: “My parents should just trust me and stop asking all these questions about my personal life. It makes me so mad!”
Even if you think the problem is someone else fault you can do something about it by getting help for yourself. Teens learn fast and are willing to try new things. Use that ability to make things better for yourself by learning new ways to handle the problems and challenges you’re facing right now..
